CELTIC MARCHES

For seven generations, Sue Vaughan and her family have been farming 200 acres of orchards in the Herefordshire countryside. The family farm is based in Bishops Frome and only apples grown on the farm are used in the making of the multi award-wining craft cider. That makes Celtic Marches one of the largest self-sustaining single estate cider producers in the UK.

Chosen for growth and taste profiles, eight cider apple varieties are grown, pressed and blended to create the international award-winning ciders. The whole process takes place within just five miles of the farm, and depending on the variety and season, the team can press 5-8 tonnes of apples an hour. Each tonne gives a yield of between 650-780 litres, resulting in three million litres of cider a year. The cider is exported to over 14 countries around the world.

There are nine core ciders including cloudy, dry and an award-winning low alcohol version, Holly Golightly, plus a range of 13 tantalising fruit ciders to try.
