MARTIN’S MEATS

Martins Meats is a family butcher established in 2003 by husband and wife, Martin and Emma Gilder. Martins’ father and grandfather have been cattle farmers and dealers for many years.

Martin says, “From the time I learnt to walk, I’ve been going to cattle markets and these experiences have given me the knowledge I needed to have a ‘good eye’ for cattle buying. I still buy a lot of cattle ‘on the hoof’, in the field in the traditional way.”

Martin and Emma’s farm, Hillview Farm Gretton, is home to their longhorn cattle and is located just 10 miles from the abattoir in Gloucester. Martin believes it is important to have good, local relationships at every stage, from farm to plate. That’s how he ensures the highest quality for the best price.

Martin’s passion for providing premium beef led him to set up his own butchers, in which he oversees the whole process.

BEST SELLER:

Martin’s award-winning dry-aged burgers are made from steak mince cut from his own Longhorn grass-fed cattle. As the oldest breed of cattle, Longhorns are not cross bred or intensively farmed and produce a finer grained muscle in the meat and an intense marbling of fat which creates a succulence and flavour that is second to none.

OUR FAVOURITE:

Martin’s boned and rolled brisket is absolutely perfect for slow-cooking.
