Worcestershire Cancer Aid aims to support cancer sufferers and their families. Run by a small group of dedicated volunteers, the charity works to alleviate some of the financial burdens experiences by individuals who are unable to work due to their own ill-health, or who have to stay home to care for a sick child or relative.
The charity, based in Upton-upon-Severn, celebrated its 50th year in 2024, and we were delighted to present Chairperson Tracey Russell and Trustee Brenda Till with a cheque from our Community Savings Scheme. The grants made will help to fund specialist equipment, bedding and travel expenses for individuals and families affected by cancer.
The Warner’s Community Savings supports local groups and charities by giving customers the opportunity to donate a community token to their chosen charity every time they shop and spend over £10. These efforts have resulted in a £524 donation, which will be valuable in supporting these individuals in the community. Every six months Warner’s turns the tokens into cash and presents it to the local group or charity.
